ISLAMABAD: January 27, 2026: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, met with the Ambassador of Nepal, H.E. Rita Dhital, at the CDA Headquarters on Tuesday. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa welcomed the Nepali Ambassador, H.E. Rita Dhital, at the CDA Headquarters. The meeting was also attended by CDA Board Member Admin Talat Mahmood and other senior officers. Matters of mutual interest, including further strengthening bilateral relations, were discussed during the meeting. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that Pakistan holds its relations with the brotherly country Nepal in the highest esteem. During the meeting, the Ambassador of Nepal praised the beauty and urban planning of Islamabad, highlighting the important role of CDA in preserving the natural beauty of the Federal Capital and in urban development. She noted that the presence of green spaces and large number of parks makes the environment of the Capital City extremely peaceful. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that the Master Plan is being followed to maintain the green cover of the Federal Capital, Islamabad. The meeting also discussed the plan to declare Islamabad and Kathmandu as sister cities. The Nepali Ambassador said that work on the draft agreement regarding granting sister city status to Islamabad and Kathmandu is ongoing. The meeting also discussed the plot allocated for the Nepali embassy in the Diplomatic Enclave. In this connection, Chairman CDA said that the CDA is fully ready to facilitate in all matters concerning the Nepali embassy. Furthermore, the meeting was informed on the measures being taken for the beautification and uplift of the Diplomatic Enclave. Chairman CDA said that the beautification and uplift of the Diplomatic Enclave are among CDA's priorities. He also extended a special invitation to the Nepali Ambassador to actively participate in the upcoming spring tree plantation campaign starting next month. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthen mutual cooperation and relations at the civic level.
