ISLAMABAD: September 4, 2026: Citizens have appreciated the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for its prompt and effective response following heavy rainfall in Islamabad, particularly the swift clearance of rainwater from major roads within hours by the Sanitation teams which provided relief to citizens and helped restore normal traffic flow. While Islamabad slept through the night amid heavy rainfall, CDA sanitation and drainage teams remained active in the field, clearing roads, removing debris and ensuring that drainage gratings and critical points remained clear. Their timely response and continuous field operations helped the city wake up to a smooth and safer morning commute. CDA sanitation teams remained fully mobilized throughout the rainfall to ensure timely drainage, smooth traffic flow and maximum relief for citizens. CDA sanitation teams were deployed at major roads, drainage points, underpasses, low-lying areas and other sensitive locations. Special attention was given to clearing drainage gratings and removing debris and other obstructions that could hinder the flow of rainwater. The situation was continuously monitored by field teams, while concerned officers and staff remained present in the field, maintaining close coordination and responding immediately to any situation arising due to heavy rainfall.
