Chairman CDA Directs Continuation of Anti-Encroachment Drive Across Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: November 9, 2025: In line with the directions of Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, comprehensive anti-encroachment operations are being carried out vigorously across the Federal Capital to eliminate all encroachments and illegal constructions without any discrimination. In this connection, despite the weekly holiday, the Enforcement Directorate of CDA, in collaboration with the District Administration and Islamabad Police, conducted a large-scale operation against encroachments in the green belts of Sectors H-9 and I-9. Heavy machinery was utilized to demolish numerous illegal shops, makeshift hotels (chapper hotels), and structures established on state land, particularly within green belts. The operation was personally supervised by Deputy Director General (Enforcement) Dr. Anam Fatima. According to details, during the operation, four trolleys loaded with materials belonging to the land mafia were shifted to the DMA store. In addition, 7 shops, 9 makeshift hotels (chapper hotels), 7 rooms, 7 tandoors, 4 washrooms, 3 marble stalls, 3 containers, 3 sheds, 1 service station, and 1 inoperative vehicle were removed using heavy machinery. Lifters, cranes, and other vehicles were also deployed during the operation. The cleared state land will now be handed over to the Environment Wing to ensure eco-friendly afforestation in the area. It is pertinent to mention that, on the special directions of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, these operations will continue in the coming days to completely remove all types of encroachments and illegal constructions from the Federal Capital. The purpose is to ensure that public spaces, green belts, and walkways remain fully accessible to citizens. The CDA Administration reiterated that the ongoing anti-encroachment campaign is part of the vision to eradicate unauthorized occupations and illegal constructions from Islamabad. It was further stated that such operations will continue without interruption in the future. The Administration also appealed to citizens to refrain from illegal construction activities and to play their constructive role in preserving the natural beauty of the city.
