Chairman CDA Reviews Plans for Modern Convention, Expo Center and Luxury Hotel in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: 26 December, 2025: An important meeting regarding various development projects was held at the CDA Headquarters on Friday, chaired by Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting was attended by CDA Board members including Member Administration Talat Mehmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch and other concerned officers. The meeting reviewed the establishment of a modern Convention Center and Expo center in the Federal Capital, Islamabad. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that the completion of this project in the Federal Capital, Islamabad, must be ensured prior to hosting international conferences, including upcoming SCO meetings. During the briefing, it was informed that proposals regarding the selection of a suitable location for the construction of the convention and expo center are under consideration. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that a location should be chosen for the convention and expo center that ensures easy public access and provides better parking facilities. He said that international standards must be considered in the construction of the convention center and expo center. Chairman CDA said that this project is a significant step towards making the city a modern and world-class Capital. The meeting also reviewed the construction of a luxury hotel in Islamabad to promote the hospitality industry in the Federal Capital. Chairman CDA directed that the tendering process for this project be expedited so that its formal commencement can be made possible next year. He emphasized that an open and transparent competitive process must be ensured at all stages of the projects. Chairman CDA said that through these efforts, along with the beautification and development of Islamabad City, its capacity to host international events is being enhanced. He directed that no compromise be made on the high standards of quality during the completion of these mega development projects. Chairman CDA said that the completion of these mega projects will transform the Federal Capital, Islamabad, into a hub for international and national events, tourism, and diplomatic activities. He further added that all resources are being utilized to make the Federal Capital, Islamabad, the world's best, international and exemplary Capital City.
