Islamabad, September 8, 2026: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is committed to transforming Islamabad into a green, developed, clean, beautiful, environmentally sustainable and tourist friendly federal capital, with special focus on development, civic services, beautification, environmental sustainability and public facilitation. Major development and infrastructure works, including roads, interchanges, underpasses, pedestrian facilities and other key urban infrastructure, are being expedited to improve connectivity, mobility and traffic flow across the city. Development and improvement works in important areas, including the Diplomatic Enclave, are also continuing. CDA is further enhancing Islamabad's green and beautiful character through plantation, landscaping and beautification of green belts, medians, interchanges, roadsides, parks and public spaces. CDA sanitation teams are continuously active in their respective areas of responsibility, while cleanliness, drainage, nullah and watercourse clearance are being undertaken as a continuous exercise. Efforts to strengthen and modernise solid waste management are also being accelerated to further improve civic services. Under the Zero Tolerance Policy, action against encroachments and violations of civic regulations has been intensified to reclaim government land of worth billions of rupees and protect roads, footpaths, green belts and other public spaces. Strict enforcement of Fire and Life Safety regulations is also being ensured to safeguard citizens. CDA is also enhancing Islamabad's tourism and recreational potential. Facilities at F-9 Park, Lake View Park, Daman-e-Koh and walking trails, among other locations, are being improved to provide better recreational opportunities and experiences for citizens, domestic tourists and international visitors. The development works, civic services, plantation, beautification, enforcement, tourism and digitalisation reflects CDA's commitment to results oriented and citizen centric governance. The objective is to transform Islamabad into a modern federal capital offering a clean, green, safe, beautiful and world class urban environment.
