CDA Board Approves Lawyers Chambers Plot, GIS Mapping & Safety Upgrades in First 2026 Meeting

ISLAMABAD: (PR: Dated February 12, 2026): The first CDA Board meeting for the year 2026 was held at CDA Headquarters, presided over by Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting was attended by CDA Board Members including Member Admin Talat Mehmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz along with other senior officers. Vice Chancellor of the University of Punjab, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, participated in the meeting via Zoom link. Several agenda items were discussed during the first CDA Board meeting of 2026. According to details, CDA Board approved the allotment of a plot for the construction of Lawyers Chambers and a multi-storey parking area adjacent to the lower courts. The plot for the construction of Lawyers Chambers and multi-storey parking has been provided as an alternate plot, replacing a previously allotted site, upon the request of the Ministry of Law and Justice. The meeting also approved the allotment of a plot to the Pakistan Engineering Council. Furthermore, CDA Board meeting discussed the request for the provision of land for the construction of the Field Audit Office Complex in Mauve Area. Moreover, the CDA Board meeting deliberated on the feasibility study and detailed design of the Shahdara Dam Project, the study of the Water Treatment Plant and the conduction lines to meet the water requirements of the Federal Capital, Islamabad. Additionally, the meeting decided to seek technical assistance from SUPARCO and the Survey of Pakistan for developing GIS-based datasets for the digital basemap, geospatial web portals and decision support system for the entire administrative jurisdiction of the Federal Capital, Islamabad. Subsequently, the CDA Board meeting also approved the hiring of a government/State-Owned Entity (SOE) consultant for the assessment, retrofitting, upgradation, design, procurement and execution of fire detection, fire suppression life safety, and HVAC systems in the Supreme Court of Pakistan building.
