ISLAMABAD: October 31, 2025: A meeting on sectoral and urban development was held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters under the chairmanship of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting was attended by Member Planning and Design, Dr. Khalid Hafiz; Member Environment, Esfandyar Baloch; Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon; Deputy Commissioner CDA; Director Sector Development; senior officers, and a technical team from SUPARCO. The meeting reviewed the provision of satellite imagery by SUPARCO to CDA for improved urban planning, monitoring of development activities, and the identification of land-related issues. The SUPARCO technical team briefed participants on the supply of high-resolution satellite data in line with the MoU signed between CDA and SUPARCO. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa stated that with the help of advanced satellite technology from SUPARCO, the CDA will be able to enhance the accuracy of land monitoring, detect encroachments more efficiently, and ensure transparency and efficiency in urban planning across sectoral and non-sectoral areas. He termed this collaboration a significant milestone toward achieving smart urban management in Islamabad. During the meeting, progress on ongoing sector development projects was also reviewed. It was informed that: Sector C-14: Development work has entered the final stages, with TST and kerbstone installation nearing completion, while drainage, sewerage, and horticulture works are progressing rapidly. Sector C-15: Earthwork, sub-base, drainage, and sewerage works are advancing swiftly and are expected to be completed soon. Sector I-12: Development activities, including base work, TST, and central area development, are in their final phases. Sector E-12 (Sub-sectors 2 & 3): Construction work has commenced and is being carried out at a fast pace. Chairman CDA directed the concerned departments to ensure timely completion of all development projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality. He emphasized the importance of providing all basic amenities in the new sectors before their opening to the public. He further stated that long-delayed sectors have now witnessed resumed and accelerated development activity, and the possession of developed plots should be ensured at the earliest. “Alongside the completion of mega infrastructure projects in the city, sectoral development remains one of our top priorities,” he added.
