Chairman CDA Visits Sector E-12, Reviews Development Progress and Directs Acceleration of Ongoing Works

ISLAMABAD, September 26, 2026: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) visited Sector E-12, Islamabad, and reviewed the overall situation and progress of development activities in the sector. During the visit, the Chairman CDA was briefed on the clearance of approximately 750 kanals of acquired land, which had remained under unauthorized occupation and constituted a major impediment to the planned development of Sector E-12. The clearance of 750 kanals marks a significant milestone in the CDA's efforts to remove longstanding impediments to the development of the sector and restore the acquired land to its intended purpose. The cleared land will enable the CDA to move forward with development activities in accordance with approved plans and facilitate the planned expansion and development of Sector E-12, Islamabad. *On the direction of Federal Minister for Interior, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, and supervision of Chairman CDA, and in collaboration with Islamabad Administration, CDA is conducting clearance operations across Islamabad as part of its broader efforts to make the federal capital free from encroachments, protect acquired and public land, and address longstanding issues that have affected the development of various sectors.* During the visit, the Chairman CDA reviewed the progress of ongoing development works and directed the concerned officers to accelerate development activities in the cleared areas. He emphasized that the pace of work should be increased through coordinated efforts and that all development activities must be executed in accordance with approved plans, prescribed standards, and applicable rules and regulations. The Chairman CDA also reviewed the situation on the ground and was briefed in detail regarding land clearance and ongoing development activities. Member Planning, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, DG Works (CDA), Additional Commissioner (General), Additional Commissioner (Revenue), the concerned Assistant Commissioner, and other senior officers of the CDA were present on the occasion. The officers briefed the Chairman CDA on the progress of development works, land clearance, and the status of claims of affectees and allottees. The officers further apprised the Chairman that, following verification of claims and completion of the requisite legal and procedural formalities, allotment letters had been handed over to genuine and bona fide affectees whose claims were found admissible under the applicable rules. During detailed ground verification and assessment of the acquired land, the CDA identified unauthorized structures and occupation of acquired state land. Relevant information regarding such structures, their occupants, and persons allegedly involved in their construction and subsequent renting has been collected by the CDA. The CDA has made it clear that the protection of acquired and public land is an institutional responsibility of the Authority. Appropriate action, strictly in accordance with law and after completion of the prescribed legal process, will be taken against individuals involved in unauthorized construction, occupation, and commercial exploitation of acquired state land. The CDA reiterated that acquired and public land cannot be allowed to become a source of private commercial gain through unauthorized construction, occupation, or renting of structures. At the same time, all genuine and legally admissible claims will continue to be addressed through due process. The clearance of 750 kanals of acquired land will enable the CDA to proceed with development activities in the cleared areas and remove a major physical impediment that had affected the planned development of Sector E-12 for several years. The CDA remains committed to protecting acquired and public land from unauthorized occupation and commercial exploitation, safeguarding the legitimate rights of genuine affectees in accordance with law, expediting the processing of outstanding claims, removing the remaining impediments to the development of Sector E-12, accelerating development works in accordance with approved plans and prescribed standards, and facilitating allottees and citizens awaiting the development of the sector. *Citizens and allottees have appreciated the CDA's efforts to clear encroachments and remove longstanding impediments from Sector E-12. They expressed the hope that the clearance of the acquired land would facilitate and accelerate development activities and help transform the sector into a properly planned and developed residential area.* The CDA also appreciated the cooperation extended by citizens and genuine affectees during the clearance process and reiterated that the Authority will continue working to resolve genuine public issues through lawful, transparent, and well-defined procedures. *The clearance of 750 kanals of acquired land in Sector E-12 represents an important milestone in restoring the land to its intended purpose and creating the necessary conditions for the development of Sector E-12, Islamabad.* *The CDA has reiterated its commitment to maintaining the momentum of development activities so that the long-pending expectations of citizens and allottees can translate into the development of a properly planned, organized, and fully serviced Sector E-12, in accordance with approved plans and prescribed development quality and standards.*
