Tajikistan Delegation of Landscaping and Horticulture Experts Visits CDA Headquarters

ISLAMABAD:10 September, 2025:A delegation of landscaping and horticulture experts from Tajikistan visited the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters, where they were welcomed by Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. He was accompanied by CDA Board Member Administration and Estate Talat Mahmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Director General Environment, and other senior officers. The Tajik experts briefed the Chairman CDA on environmentally friendly landscaping initiatives undertaken in Islamabad and offered their expertise, technical support, and guidance in the field of horticulture. The delegation expressed gratitude to Pakistan—particularly to the CDA—for its warm hospitality. They highlighted that, in line with the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, special emphasis is being placed on environmentally friendly afforestation and landscaping to further enhance Islamabad’s beauty. The delegation also shared valuable experiences from Tajikistan regarding plant cultivation and afforestation. During their visit to various parks and green areas, the Tajik experts praised Islamabad’s lush greenery and scenic landscaping. They noted the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s appreciation for the Capital’s horticultural development and expressed satisfaction with the city’s environmentally sustainable initiatives. The delegation also provided key suggestions to CDA’s Environment Wing, including guidance on seasonal flower rotation and the introduction of Sylvia flowers in Islamabad. They appreciated CDA’s efforts to promote green spaces and reaffirmed their commitment to future cooperation. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa emphasized that Pakistan holds its relations with its brotherly country Tajikistan in the highest regard. He lauded Tajikistan’s willingness to cooperate in horticulture and urban beautification and reiterated CDA’s resolve to strengthen international partnerships for the development of Islamabad. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to broaden collaboration between Islamabad and Dushanbe, particularly in urban beautification and environmental sustainability. Chairman Randhawa noted that CDA is working tirelessly to expand green spaces and beautify the capital, and international cooperation will remain a priority. The visit is expected to open new avenues of collaboration between Pakistan and Tajikistan in the fields of horticulture, landscaping, and environmental improvement. At the conclusion of the meeting, Chairman CDA, on behalf of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, presented souvenirs to the Tajik experts as a token of appreciation and conveyed his best wishes.
