CDA Launches Cleanliness Campaign Around Rawal Dam

ISLAMABAD: October 12, 2025: In line with the direction of Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, a comprehensive cleanliness campaign has been launched around Rawal Dam. In this regard, the CDA's Solid Waste Management Directorate has swiftly commenced a sanitation operation to remove garbage and waste from the surroundings of Rawal Dam. It is important to note that strict legal action has been initiated against those responsible for spreading litter around Rawal Dam violating Solid Waste Regulations. Relevant formations have begun issuing fines to restaurants, housing societies and commercial centers located around Rawal Dam for spreading littering and pollution violating Solid Waste Regulations. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa has directed that civil society and students including the residents of Islamabad should also be included in the Rawal Dam cleanliness campaign to broaden its scope further. Members of civil society, residents and students from schools, colleges and universities can participate in the cleanliness campaign from morning to evening on October 15th. Chairman CDA said that civil society, citizens and students should support the CDA by joining this cleanliness campaign and help ensure a clean environment. He said this campaign is being launched to raise awareness against littering and foster a sense of civic responsibility among the public. He added that the purpose of these measures is to protect aquatic life and the natural environment of Islamabad. Chairman CDA said that this initiative will not only help restore the natural beauty of Rawal Dam but will also contribute to providing citizens with a healthier and cleaner environment.
