Islamabad: September 15, 2025: Ambassador of Kazakhstan H.E. Yerzhan Kistafin called on Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa at CDA Headquarters. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on bilateral relations at city level, urban development, cultural exchanges, and eco-friendly projects. Chairman CDA highlighted that cooperation between Islamabad and Astana at the city level should be enhanced so that Sister City relations can be formally established. He expressed the desire to promote cooperation between the two cities in cultural, environment, and tourism sectors as well. Kazakhstan’s Ambassador H.E. Yerzhan Kistafin, appreciated the ongoing efforts of CDA for development and beautification of Islamabad. He proposed that a major road in Astana be named after Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah as a symbol of friendship between the two nations. Reciprocatly, a prominent road in Islamabad should be named after Kazakhstan’s renowned national poet, Abai Qunanbaiuly, further strengthening mutual literary and cultural ties between the two countries. During the meeting, Chairman CDA also briefed the Kazakh Ambassador about the eco-friendly project “Gardenia Hub.” He said this model nursery project would not only help in making the city green but also nurture a spirit of love with plantation among citizens. H.E. Kazakh Ambassador was also informed about the ongoing upgradation and beautification projects in the Diplomatic Enclave. Chairman CDA added that significant enhancements in sports and other recreational facilities are being made in the Diplomatic Enclave to provide diplomats with a quality environment and facilities. At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their resolve to further strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, particularly in the fields of culture, city level urban development, and environment
