Chairman CDA Directs Acceleration of Sector Development Work in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: November 7, 2025 : An important meeting regarding sector development was held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters on Friday, chaired by Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting was attended by Member Administration & Estate Talat Mahmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon, along with officers from the Engineering, Environment, Planning, and Estate Wings. During the meeting, the relevant officers briefed Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa on the progress of ongoing sector development projects. It was decided to constitute a dedicated working group to expedite development work in under-progress sectors and remove any administrative or technical hurdles. Similarly, another working group was formed for the upgradation of old developed sectors. This initiative aims to prepare a comprehensive plan for restoration and improvement, focusing on infrastructure rehabilitation, horticulture and landscaping, and the provision of modern civic facilities. While reviewing the ongoing works, the Chairman was briefed that in Sector C-14, road infrastructure (TST) is progressing rapidly, while horticulture and internal electrification along the service road are also underway. Chairman CDA directed for the early completion of the remaining works, particularly street lights, drainage, sewerage, water supply, and horticulture. He further instructed that the electricity supply system be completed at the earliest. The meeting was informed that in Sector C-15, earthwork for road infrastructure is in progress, while sub-base work on approximately 17 roads has been completed. Work awards for the remaining portions have been finalized, and all road infrastructure works are expected to be completed by March next year. In Sector E-12, development activities are ongoing in Sub-sectors 2 and 3, while the tendering process for development works in Sub-sector 4 will be completed shortly. Similarly, in Sector I-12, TST work is near completion and will be finalized within the current month. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed that the installation of permanent street lights and the provision of water and sewerage systems be ensured in all developing sectors. He instructed officers concerned to remain present in the field regularly to ensure timely completion of development works. The Chairman also emphasized the early handing over of possession of developed plots in newly developed sectors. He further stated that along with infrastructure and urban development, sector development to meet the housing needs of citizens remains one of CDA’s top priorities.
