ISLAMABAD: 20th February, 2026: Capital Hospital signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Alibaba Medical AI on Friday to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based screening solutions in imaging radiology. The signing ceremony was held at the hospital and attended by Executive Director Prof. Dr. Naeem Taj, senior doctors, and representatives from Alibaba AI. The initiative aligns with the vision of Capital Development Authority Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa and under the guidance of CDA Member Administration Talat Mehmood. Under the agreement, advanced AI technologies will be integrated into the hospital’s Radiology Department to enhance imaging interpretation and screening processes. The initiative aims to improve diagnostic accuracy, enable early disease detection, increase efficiency, and elevate the overall quality of patient care. The AI-powered radiology system will assist doctors by providing precise analysis of medical images, strengthening clinical decision-making while reducing reporting turnaround time and improving departmental performance. The move is part of broader efforts to promote digital innovation and service delivery improvements in CDA’s public health sector. Speaking on the occasion, Executive Director Prof. Dr. Naeem Taj said the collaboration reflects forward-looking efforts to provide citizens with modern healthcare facilities. He added that integrating AI technology will help position Capital Hospital among the country’s leading healthcare institutions while equipping medical professionals with reliable diagnostic tools and ensuring better patient outcomes through innovation.
