ISLAMABAD: February 16, 2026: A meeting chaired by Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, reviewed matters pertaining to the beautification and improvement of existing sectors. The meeting was attended by CDA Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Director General Infrastructure, Director General Works and other senior officers. A briefing was provided on matters related to the beautification, rehabilitation and improvement of existing sectors. In this regard, designs and various proposals concerning the beautification and improvement of different sectors and Markazs were presented. During the briefing, it was informed that under the beautification and improvement of sectors and Maraakiz, existing parking areas will be improved, footpaths will be repaired and cycle tracks will be constructed. Similarly, under this project, arrangements for repairing damaged street lights and improving lighting in the sectors will also be made. It was further briefed that signage boards will be installed and lane marking will be carried out for the guidance of citizens. The meeting was informed that the construction and repair of manholes and kerb stones along with the sewerage and drainage system in sectors and Commercial Maraakiz, will also be part of the project. Likewise, work will be undertaken regarding the improvement and repair of parking areas in sectors and formal landscaping will be carried out to beautify these sectors. Landscaping will be promoted on green belts and intersections to further enhance their beauty. In this regard, work will be done on eco-friendly plantation and the restoration of flower beds. Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, directed that a comprehensive strategy be adopted for the improvement of old sectors. He instructed to ensure high standards of development works and cost-effectiveness. Chairman CDA directed that the proposed designs and proposals be finalized at the earliest to ensure the timely commencement of work. He directed that encroachments and generators placed outside shops be removed immediately. He said that all resources would be utilized for the beautification, rehabilitation and improvement of the sectors. He further added that the aim of these measures is to beautify the City of Islamabad and ensure the provision of best facilities to its citizens.
