ISLAMABAD: February 13, 2026: Open trials for male and female cricketers, as part of the "Ramzan Talent Hunt Cricket Tournament" organized by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) are being held at the Diamond Cricket Ground, G-8/2, Islamabad. According to details, open trials are being conducted from February 13 to February 15 at the Diamond Cricket Ground, G-8/2, Islamabad. On the first day of the open trials, trials for women cricketers were held from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, while trials for men cricketers will continue on February 14 and 15 (Saturday and Sunday) from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, accompanied by relevant officers, visited the Diamond Cricket Ground on Friday and reviewed the open trials for women's cricket teams under the Talent Hunt Program. Relevant officers briefed Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa in detail regarding the tournament's details, the conduct of trials, the registration process, and the performance of the participating players. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that, in line with the direction of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, CDA is taking robust measures to promote not only cricket but also other sports in the Federal Capital, Islamabad. He said that men and women interested in cricket from across the country can participate in this tournament after completing the registration process. Chairman CDA said that players will be selected purely on the basis of talent. In this regard, the CDA will provide all possible support. He mentioned that subsequently, talent hunting for men will also be carried out in this regard. Chairman CDA said that all players are being given ample opportunity to showcase and hone their skills. He added that this tournament will continue during the holy month of Ramadan as well. In this context, boys and girls interested in cricket from all over Pakistan are enthusiastically participating in these open trials. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that, on the instructions of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the CDA organizes various sports programs throughout the year. He affirmed that the CDA is taking extensive measures to promote healthy activities and sports in the Federal Capital, Islamabad. Chairman CDA emphasized that the primary objective of this tournament is to discover hidden talent, especially among women across the country, and provide them with a fair opportunity and standard platform. He said that the selection process will be strictly based on merit and fair play to ensure that the selected players get the opportunity to represent Pakistan at national and international levels. He said that the organization of the tournament, the judges' panel and other matters are being carried out with utmost professionalism and merit. Director Sports and Culture CDA mentioned that over 150 women participated on the first day of the open trials, demonstrating the immense passion and potential among female cricketers. He further added that these trials are a testament to the growing sports culture in Islamabad, particularly the increasing trend of sports and healthy activities among women.
