ISLAMABAD: February 23, 2026: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited the "Ramdan Sahulat Bazaar" established in Sector H-9 on Monday. On this occasion, CDA Member Administration Talat Mehmood, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon, COO MCI Dr. Anam Fatima and other relevant officers were also accompanying him. Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa reviewed the provision of essential food items at affordable rates and their quality and also conducted a detailed inspection of the stock of various food commodities. Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad inquired from consumers visiting the "Ramdan Sahulat Bazaar" about the prices and quality of food items. Consumers visiting the "Ramdan Sahulat Bazaar" expressed satisfaction over the provision of food items, their quality, and the arrangements made. Briefing Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa regarding the arrangements made at the "Ramdan Sahulat Bazaar", relevant officers informed that keeping in view the convenience of citizens, Ramdan subsidized markets have been established at seven different locations across the city. During the briefing, it was said that all essential items are available at government-fixed rates in Islamabad's "Ramdan Sahulat Bazaar" during the month of Ramdan, and continuous monitoring is being carried out on a daily basis to ensure compliance with the official rates of all items. Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad were briefed that the CDA and district administration are fully active to provide every possible relief to citizens during Ramdan-ul-Mubarak. Strict actions are being taken against profiteers and hoarders during this holy month. During the briefing, he was informed that the digital payment and cashless system has been fully implemented in the "Ramdan Sahulat Bazaar" in accordance with the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi. Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed that Assistant Commissioners and Price Control Magistrates ensure the supply and availability of all necessary items at official prices. In this regard, relevant officers must ensure their presence in Ramdan Bazaars and general markets and ensure the immediate resolution of public complaints. Chief Commissioner Islamabad and Chairman CDA said that the rate list of official prices should be displayed at prominent places in the Ramdhan Bazaars. He directed that helpline numbers and What's app numbers should be displayed at prominent places keeping in view the convenience of consumers. Chairman CDA said that all relevant departments should ensure effective coordination for an efficient system of cleanliness, security, and parking in the "Ramdan Sahulat Bazaar". He said that strict action should be taken against those charging more than the official prices and engaging in illegal profiteering. He further added that the aim of these measures is to ensure the provision of the best possible facilities to the citizens of the Federal Capital during the month of Ramdan.
