CDA and Pakistan Tennis Federation to Collaborate for Promotion of Tennis in Islamabad

Islamabad: October 20, 2025: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, met with the President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, at the CDA Headquarters on Monday. The meeting was also attended by Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Planning Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, as well as the Director General Resource and Director Sports & Culture. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the promotion of tennis in Islamabad, upgradation of tennis courts, and the provision of related facilities. It was decided that the CDA will fully support the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) in upgrading the existing tennis courts across the city. In this regard, the CDA Engineering Wing, in collaboration with the PTF, will soon initiate a survey and uplift work of the tennis courts. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa stated that the Authority is ready to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pakistan Tennis Federation to promote tennis in the Federal Capital. He added that the CDA is taking practical steps to make Islamabad a sports-friendly city by developing and upgrading sports facilities and grounds, with several projects already progressing rapidly. On this occasion, PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi appreciated CDA’s efforts, stating that this collaboration will not only help promote tennis but also enable hosting of national and international tournaments in Islamabad. He added that the construction of international-standard tennis courts will provide better opportunities for Pakistani players to represent the country at higher levels. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa reaffirmed his commitment that all available resources will be utilized to promote healthy and sporting activities among the citizens of Islamabad, especially the youth.
