ISLAMABAD: October 20, 2025: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited the T-Chowk Flyover project along with relevant officers. He conducted a detailed review of the ongoing construction activities and inspected various sections of the project. During a detailed briefing, the project director, consultants, resident engineers, and relevant officers apprised the Chairman that, in line with the directions of Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi, construction work on the T-Chowk Flyover project is progressing rapidly. It was informed that approximately 49% of the total construction work has been completed. Furthermore, it was briefed that 100% of the pile cap and girder casting work, along with 60% of the safety wall construction, has been accomplished. Traffic is continuing to flow smoothly during the construction phase. The Chairman was also informed that the work is being carried out round-the-clock (24/7) and will be completed within the stipulated timeframe. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa expressed satisfaction over the ongoing progress and directed comprehensive planning for the project’s completion, keeping in view the future expansion needs of GT Road. He emphasized that while the project must be completed within the timelines, no compromise on quality standards will be tolerated. He also directed the installation of cameras at the entry point of the flyover for monitoring and ensuring public safety. Additionally, he instructed the development of a permanent plan for LED lighting, digital streamers, and landscaping to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the project. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa stated that the T-Chowk Flyover project will benefit not only the twin cities but also commuters traveling from Lahore and other parts of Punjab. He added that upon completion, the project will provide signal-free access to passengers entering Islamabad from GT Road. Reaffirming CDA’s commitment to improving city infrastructure, the Chairman said that providing the best travel facilities to citizens and developing sustainable urban infrastructure are among the Authority’s top priorities. He directed the consultants and resident engineers to ensure timely completion of the project while maintaining the highest quality standards.
